On a envie de parle de choses autres, serieuses et peu serieuses. Un autre regard, une autre energie. Et il est curieux de voir que des peuples qui ont les pires difficultees se mettent a un surpluss d’imagination, de combativite. Car la vie meme obstruee par les nuages peut s’assembler sous d’autres cieux.

C’est un curieux petit film, fait on l’imagine dans des conditions plus ou moins faciles et qui detonne et etonne les festivals. The Warden signe du directeur Nima Javidi est une ballade dans un univers carceral avec un amateur de musique classique qu’il diffuse aux prisonniers qu’il administre. S’il ne s’agissait un endroit et d’une situation sinistre, cela pourrait une fable comme on aimerait s’en inventer plus souvent. Autour de cette fable une musique extraordinaire d’un jeune prodige Iranien : Ramin Kousha. Un score brillant et ennivrant, une maitrise harmonique et diplomatique des notes dans un contexte troublant. Ramin Kousha vit entre l’Iran et Los Angeles et est sans doute promis a de belles partitions, tant sa maitrise, son langage musical est sonore et perfomant. Il y a ces belles partitions et il y a des partitions qui ne laissent pas insensible et dont on peut se dire que l’on vient d’entendre quelque chose.

Ce quelque chose s’appelle The Warden, avec une tres belle bande son.

A prison is about to be evacuated to make room for an airport expansion project. Colonel Jahed and his officers are busy transferring all inmates to the new facility, but one inmate is missing.

Ramin Kousha is an Iranian-raised, Los Angeles based composer. Classically trained from the age of six Ramin has developed wide technical backgrounds with an expertise in unique artistic approaches including electronic and orchestral. His music is heard in numerous projects covering a variety of formats such as feature films, documentaries, TV series, and video games. Shortly after learning music theory and performing piano in various orchestras, Ramin realized his passion for composing. This eventually led him to study and work for the well-known Iranian classical composer Ahmad Pejman. At the age of 18 he decided to move to the United States to pursue his dream of film scoring. Ramin’s professional career began composing original scores for student films in college which shortly led to writing for features films. Ramin earned his bachelor of arts in music composition from California State University, Northridge.
